This is a picture of my cousin Eleanor Blanche (Powers) Berryhill on her wedding day. She is with her parents, Thomas Cecil Powers and Eunice (Lane) Powers. My father told me about spending the summers with uncle Cecil on the farm working tobacco. We were very close to Eleanor (Dad called her Blanche most of the time).I remember how she would come and visit us when we would go on vacation. She would drive up and spend time with us on the beach. Staying up playing chicken foot, learning songs, watching the Braves. Those are fond memories.
Eleanor was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease in the fall of 2004. In just a little over a week will mark the day that we lost Eleanor three years ago.
